An interesting survey done years ago. It asked unchurched people what would be the
one thing that would most encouraged them to select aparticular church. The highest
factor by far was the Pastor. The factor was substantially more important to those
unmbelievers than the denomination, the facilities, the friendliness, the church programme,
the doctrines and even whether they have friends who go there it is dtill true
today.

No minister can be truly successful in the ministry without a constant and consistence adherence to certain ministerial disciplines. One great reason why many ministers are becoming victims of ministry casualties is lack and rejection of ministerial disciplines. Ministerial disciplines help a minister to keep to daily and regular self inspection which is the key to ministry respect.

It is mandatory that we have a proper grasp of the dynamics of growth as church leaders. This
foundation is very salient if we are to see true and durable growth in our churches and ministry. For
too long a time, church leaders are muddled up in their understanding of what really constituted
growth in their respective churches and ministries.

In the church, the pastor must grow to become the leader. The Lord doesn’t lead His church by committees,
but by one man, ably supported by committees. Like every other human organization, leadership is very
crucial to the health and well-being of the church. But much more than any other human organization, the
church is the most leadership intensive entity on earth. Because the church is the agent of divine
transformation, her leadership must be of the purest and highest kind.

Denominational churches were the order of the day until about 25 years ago when people started
leaving to start. Churches with names that are quite strange and unheard of before. This trend
picked up and gather lots of momentum in the late eighties and early nineties. Today, the most
visible churches are these churches started and being led by anointed individuals that broke away
from denominational control and shackles.

MAGNETIC AND MARKETABLE MINISTER

It is quite alarming that many who profess to be ministers and are in the ministry today are
abysmally ignorant of changes that are taking place. Many behaves and are acting as if all
that is to being a gospel minister is answering the name and mounting the pulpit to preach.
No! There is much more to being a gospel minister. The image of the preacher, minister, or
pastor of yesteryears is quite different to that of today. Many ministers who are still holding to
the image of the past will find that they are not marketable today.
